Rise above / Poem #blacklivesmatter

There is no time to recall
But time to forgive and forget
Question your past,
Or live your today.

Rise above your ego,
The last call to your mind.
Make amends with people who’ve been so kind,
Who never wanted to hear you say goodbye.

Rise above your fear,
She’s living inside your home.
Tell her to leave, you’ve fed her enough—
You were stronger all alone.

Rise above the silence.
Pick up the mic and scream
Loud enough to tremble the universe,
With the truth that was never heard.

Rise above yourself
See the mountains bigger than your goddamn screens,
Power is within to break
The most beautiful rain parade.

Rise above, find your light.
One life, one day, one second—
You, an armoured knight.
Rise above the clouds in the sky,
To seek all the glimmer in your eyes.
Rise above, let it go.
Rise above, now it’s your show.

No more black lives, or people of color should suffer anymore. The world is setting an example right now as to what will happen if such outrageous behavior is ever repeated in the future. As long as we stand United, George Floyd’s demise will not go in vain.
